Terms of Service

1. Scope and acceptance

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Claviano, a free online piano practice tool operated by Lucas Rech (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Notice.

2. Description of the service

Claviano lets you upload MIDI, MusicXML, or PDF files, view them as sheet music, and practice with playback and MIDI input. The service is provided free of charge as a personal project. We may change, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice.

3. Account

You must provide a valid email address and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload files that infringe third-party copyrights or are otherwise illegal.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure.
• Use the service for any commercial purpose without prior written consent.
• Interfere with the normal operation of the service or impose an unreasonable load.

5. Uploaded content

You retain ownership of the files you upload. By uploading a file you confirm that you have the necessary rights to do so. You grant us a limited licence to store, process, and display your files solely for the purpose of providing the service. We reserve the right to remove infringing or unlawful content without notice and to terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

6. Intellectual property

All rights in the Claviano software, design, and branding remain with us. The built-in library consists of public-domain compositions. Nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our intellectual property beyond what is needed to use the service.

7. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service (i.e. zero, as the service is free).

8. Availability and data loss

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. While we take reasonable care to protect your data, we are not liable for data loss. You are responsible for keeping your own copies of uploaded files.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time via account settings or by emailing claviano@reluem.dev. Upon deletion, your account data and uploaded files are permanently removed. We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice within the service. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Vienna, Austria, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence.
